Suozzi hosts Town Hall Meeting
During his opening remarks the County Executive stated that Nassau continues to be a sought after place to live, with low crime, excellent schools, low unemployment, beautiful parks, waterfronts and ocean beaches. The four biggest problems facing Nassau are high property taxes, lack of young people moving here, traffic and pockets of poverty. The County Executive outlined several initiatives he has created to address each of these areas including his vision for creating "New Suburbia".
Following his opening remarks, the County Executive took questions from the audience on: the status of the Lighthouse Project, lack of affordable housing, the Roosevelt School District, programs to improve the environment and his work as Chairman of the New York State Commission on Property Tax Relief.
In addressing his political future, the County Executive stated that he is considering running for a third term as long as there is work to be done which can benefit the lives of Nassau residents. He plans to make a formal announcement in the next few weeks.

I just don’t see how we can ever have property tax refrom unless we recogonioze that we do not need multiple school districts. One Long Island district is enough. We also cannot go forward without confronting th fact the the unions control Albany. And above all no property tax should exceed houshold inomce by more then the curren ny stte income tax rate.

re: team suozzi
sorry no place provided for this blog.
I just joined team suozzi because I’m a big supporter of Mr. Suozzi.
But let me ask; what’s with the profiling?
Does it matter who we are or where we’re from Mr. Suozzi? Aren’t you for all your constituents? Or is it so we can receive a canned answer?
I’ll give you a hint. I’m an AMERICAN. I want property tax reform, reformation or abolition of any and all worker legislation and rights and liberties that should only be available to American citizens in lieu of spending our tax money on rights for illegal aliens.
What’s happening to this country that illegal aliens are receiving OUR liberties?

don’t be so quick to blame the unions, Mr Favata. Were it not for unions this countries employees would still be working tor the company and its store. Unions have raised the living standards of Americans on a whole, union and non-union alike. God Bless America and God Bless Labor Unions.
