County Executive Suozzi Announces Reelection
Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi, formally announced he will seek re-election as County Executive on the evening of May 19th at RXR Plaza in Uniondale. Joined by hundreds of supporters, Suozzi and Chairman Jacobs announced the countywide ticket for 2009 - Suozzi at the top, along with Comptroller Howard Weitzman, District Attorney Kathleen Rice and candidate for Clerk, Carrie Solages.
During his remarks, Suozzi called for a property tax "revolution" and called property taxes "a Democratic issue" and "the most regressive tax that hurts working families."
"This has to be the Democratic issue of all time", said Suozzi.
Suozzi also pushed for approval of the Lighthouse Project at the Nassau Coliseum. The project is vital to the future development of the County and will bring much needed jobs and tax dollars to the area.
Other candidates were announced at the Nassau County Democratic Convention on May 28th.
