Kick-off to US Open at Bethpage Black

Today, I appeared with Nassau Legislator Dave Mejias and Farmingdale Mayor Butch Starkie to officially launch the kick-off to the 2009 US Open at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, NY.  This is the first time since 2002 that Bethpage will again host this prestigious event.  The last Open in '02 was a great event, with Tiger Woods emerging as the champion.  We look forward to working hard to ensure that '09 is even better.  The US Open will pump over $100 million into the local economy and we intend to promote the Village of Farmingdale and the surrounding areas as places people can go to eat, shop and be entertained before and after the golf.
